Countdown to Connection

Countdown to Connection

A Blog about the Creating Connections Conference in September 2016

By Vagdevi Meunier, Psy.D.

There is a mega conference coming to North America in September 2016 called Creating Connections for the first time ever.  Previously only available to people willing to fly out to Netherlands, this conference brings a professional dialogue about connection to our soil just before this country is slated to engage in a historic political election for the next president of the United States.

Why should you care?  Because this conference brings together the best researchers and clinical minds of our era who are specifically researching and writing about relationships, attachment, connection, and love and they will be sharing their latest ideas and findings as well as engaging in a dialogue with each other.  We will get to learn from and participate in crucial conversations that cannot be found anywhere else.  Now, more than ever, we need to learn how to build connections rather than break them down.  We need to find ways to bridge differences amongst us, support and celebrate relationships at every level of society, and build a scientific understanding of love that overcomes centuries of misinformation and judgment that has harmed people all over the world.

The Creating Connections Conference will take place on September 22nd through the 24th 2016, that is just 130 days away.  Every week for the next four months, we will count down to connection by highlighting a different aspect of this conference.  We will take a look behind the scenes to preparations, special events, and exciting news.  We will look at the biographies, histories, and juicy tidbits of information about each presenter.  Finally we will highlight special places to eat, visit, or stay in Washington, DC where this conference is going to take place.

The Creating Connections conference will be an event to remember for a long time and we want you to be primed and ready to have the best experience of connecting with colleagues, dialoguing with presenters, and enjoying the city.  We hope you are as excited to be attending as we, at National Marriage Seminars, are to be organizing this amazing professional adventure.  We cannot wait to see you there!
